Taylor and Fraser undertook the structural alteration, adaptation and subdivision of a retail unit within an existing shopping centre at City Wharf, Ship Row, Aberdeen. The centre was also subject to a major extension constructed in parallel with our Casino project and subsequently there was a requirement for close liaison with both the Casino fit-out contractor and the adjoining Management Contractor.
Scope of Work
This was a challenging project predominantly due to the City Centre location and the adjoining occupied offices and retail units. Completion was achieved in June 2008.
The project comprised of the following trades, several of which were contractor designed:
- Driven cased mini-piling
- Underground and above ground drainage
- Structural steelwork
- Formation of a new electrical substation with utilities connections
- Precast concrete stairs
- Internal masonry walls
- Demolition and downtakings
- Timber, steel, acoustic and roller shutter doors
- Electrical and Lifts Installation
- Stainless steel and structural glazed canopy
- Aluminium wall cladding
- Chinese granite wall cladding
- Glazed entrance screens and automatic doors
