Senior Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Planner with over six years of experience. The successful candidate will lead the planning function within the business. This role requires expertise in creating and managing project schedules from inception to completion, collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, design, construction management, and commissioning. Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6 and Asta is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop new project plans and schedules from design through to handover, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.  Ensure programmes are fully compliant with the requirements of specific contract forms i.e. NEC 3/4.
  • In conjunction with site teams, manage and monitor project schedules and control tools, identifying and reporting key milestones.
  • Analyse project critical paths, providing updates on schedule performance and productivity to the project management team.
  • Determine and communicate resource requirements to achieve project objectives, including labour histograms, identify variances, provide regular performance updates, recommend corrective actions as necessary and produce project dashboards where appropriate.
  • Conduct interactive planning workshops to facilitate team alignment.
  • Work with project teams to create and monitor commissioning/handover programmes.
  • Work across the estimating and commercial functions regarding tender returns and commercial milestones.
  • Support tender submissions with programmes, programme narratives, and methodology to articulate project delivery.
  • Work with estimators, bid managers, bid writers, and bio teams to maximise the quality of bid submission documents.
  • Provide buildability and procurement support to bio and project teams.

Requirements:

  • On-site project experience.
  • Have a developing knowledge of strategic planning and project/programme management systems.
  • 6 + years of experience in a similar planning role with a main contractor in Ireland or the UK.
  • Navis works or 4D planning (Synchro).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong commitment to quality and project success.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Projects, Primavera and Asta, planning software and Microsoft suite of software including Word, Excel, etc.
