We are delighted to support the 2025 RICS Scotland Conference

We are excited to announce that Taylor and Fraser are co-sponsoring the upcoming RICS Scotland Conference, and it’s all the more pleasing because the venue, the University of Glasgow, is so well known to us, having worked on many projects on and around the campus over the years. In fact, we are pleased to see that the University of Glasgow is the headline sponsor.

It’s a pleasure to collaborate with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), which is the leading professional body working in the public interest to advance knowledge, uphold standards, and inspire current and future professionals. The focus of this year’s conference reflects their mission and will focus on collaboration, working together for the betterment of the built environment.

Chartered Surveyors are pivotal to our work at Taylor and Fraser, and we genuinely appreciate institutions like RICS that set and maintain high standards and levels of professionalism, while offering exceptional training, guidance and insights to the construction industry. Indeed, members attending the conference will not only hear from an impressive list of speakers, but they will also add five and a half hours of formal CPD training in the process.

The conference will be chaired by RICS Chair, Professor Norman K. McLennan FRICS, who is also Director General at COES Caledonia. Among the many standout speakers on the day will be Kate Forbes MSP, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Gaelic, and Peter Haggarty FRICS, Executive Director of Estates at the University of Glasgow.

Speaking about the collaboration, Taylor and Fraser’s Managing Director, Andrew Norris, said: “It’s a pleasure to be sponsoring the RICS Scotland Conference. It’s an institution steeped in history and a vital organisation in the construction sector. We rely on, and benefit greatly from, the professionalism, integrity and expertise of its members, and we are delighted to support the conference at the University of Glasgow.”

The conference takes place on the 12th June and sessions will address key questions facing the industry, including:

  • What are the best strategies for avoiding supply-chain stalls?
  • How can emerging and mature industries learn from each other in the creation of green energies and the attainment of net-zero targets?
  • How are planners and developers looking to deliver safe homes in times of housing shortage?
  • How are leaders rethinking finance models and modes of public-private collaboration for public infrastructure?
  • How can we best protect our wellbeing and create a workforce prepared for future challenges?
