Congratulations, Morag, you are a winner in our eyes!

For more than 100 years, BESA (The Building Engineering Services Association) has been driving excellence so everyone can expect and experience better buildings. They were formerly known as the Heating and Ventilating Contractors Association (HVCA). BESA provide standards to measure up to. They do this so building engineers and operators understand what best looks like. BESA is undoubtedly one of the premier trade and membership organisations in the construction sector.

Understandably, the annual BESA National Awards are a big deal; sought after by the best companies in building engineering, the shortlist is eagerly anticipated every year. This year, the team at Taylor & Fraser were excited to see one of their apprentices on the shortlist; Morag McKay was named as a finalist in the H&V Industrial & Commercial Level 2/BSE Installer Apprentice of the Year category.

There are awards for outstanding projects and firms, as well as individuals who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Categories cover the entire supply chain, from manufacturers and distributors to contractors, engineers, and clients. Therefore, seeing Morag’s name on the shortlist alongside some of the biggest names in construction was truly exciting for her and the whole team at Taylor and Fraser.

The winners were announced at a glittering dinner on the 12th of October at Novotel London West; unfortunately, Morag was not announced as the overall winner in her category, but just to be named as a national finalist was well-earned recognition for all that she has achieved since starting her apprenticeship at Taylor and Fraser. We are delighted with her progress and thank her for providing representation for the company at the prestigious National Awards.
