Embracing Diversity and Inclusion brings added bonuses…

June was UK Pride Month, and we are delighted to have celebrated it across the whole business. We appreciate the manner in which our team embraced and reinforced our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Pride Month has undoubtedly grown in significance over the last few years, with cities across the UK hosting vibrant parades, events, and educational programs throughout June. It serves as a platform for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to celebrate diversity, raise awareness about LGBTQ+ rights, and encourage a sense of community and acceptance. At Taylor and Fraser, we also used the opportunity to add some colour to the office and enjoy some delicious cupcakes. One of our Finance Assistants, Alison Adam, arranged to have some beautifully crafted cupcakes made with the Taylor and Fraser branding and messages of support for Pride Month. She also arranged a special coffee morning in the office and encouraged our staff to sport bright clothing, although some limited this to rainbow-coloured socks!

However, we didn’t forget about the many staff we have working on clients’ sites; this year, we sent some cupcakes to the team at the John Anderson Building at the University of Strathclyde in recognition of the great work they have done in fostering an inclusive working environment.

Diversity and inclusion are important in all walks of society, especially in the workplace, and none more so than in the construction sector, so we are delighted to have supported and celebrated Pride Month UK, and the cupcakes were a very tasty bonus!
