The team at Taylor and Fraser are no strangers to fundraising stints and doing our bit for charity, and we already have plans for 2019 to build upon our fundraising total.
Iain Muir, Senior Manager at Taylor and Fraser, is planning on doing his second Kiltwalk this year, following on from the success of the 2018 event. Iain will take on the tartan dawned 23 mile ‘Mighty Stride’ in aid of STV Cash for Kids on 28th April 2019.
Last year Iain completed the 23-mile Kiltwalk in a fantastic time of 5 hours 35 minutes. It kicked off at Glasgow Green and finished up in Balloch. He raised a fantastic amount of £375 in sponsorship last year for STV Cash for Kids and is looking to further this total again at this year’s event.
The Kiltwalk offers a fantastic fundraising platform that benefits thousands of charities each year. The fundraising total of every participant is topped up by 40% from The Hunter Foundation. It takes place across four Scottish cities every year: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee, and we urge you to get involved if you can!
Sir Tom Hunter, founder of The Hunter Foundation and supporter of The Kiltwalk said:
“Kiltwalk is the platform for people across Scotland to raise funds for the charity of their choice; it’s simple, it’s fun and it makes a huge difference to the charities they care about. For every pound they raise The Hunter Foundation will add another forty pence, which I hope makes this platform the most effective fundraising opportunity in Scotland.”
With around 14 weeks until the big walk, Iain is training and getting ready to take on the Mighty Stride Kiltwalk again, despite breaking his toe on Xmas eve!
We wish Iain all the best in the lead up to The Kiltwalk 2019! You can sponsor Iain here: https://glasgowkiltwalk2019.everydayhero.com/uk/iain
