This project involved the refurbishment of the derelict and dilapidated 1888 built New Cumnock Town Hall, the building was returned to its original footprint by the sensitive demolition of ad-hoc extensions and its complete internal strip out. A major stabilisation exercise was carried out on the west gable which was in danger of collapse which then allowed the installation of DPM and waterproofing measures. The full exterior of the building was conserved and restored including the infilling of redundant openings using traditional stone.

Scope of Work

A new modern underfloor heating system was incorporated within the ground floor along with traditional radiators within the first floor, the building is served by a new plantroom located within a new extension. The interior of the building was reinstated with high quality joinery finishes to create a traditional style in keeping with the age of the building and the requirements of the client, a high-quality fit-out was also completed. The building provides a fully flexible venue for all the needs of the community.
