Scope of Work

Standards of care at St John’s Hospital are extremely high. One area that Taylor and Fraser can contribute towards these high standards is working with HAI SCRIBE (Healthcare Associated Infection System for Controlling Risk in the Built Environment). HAI SCRIBE has been developed by Health Facilities Scotland with the rationale to maintain a safe environment by minimising the risk of HAI through assessment and planning, prior to and during new build and refurbishment work. HAI SCRIBE places particular responsibilities on the project team, comprising of the client, design and contractor members, to identify, assess and manage risk in terms of prevention and control of infection. Taylor and Fraser is able to confidently manage the complexities involved in working to HAI SCRIBE.

The project comprised the following:

  • Complete strip-out and establishment of site protocols to suit HAI SCRIBE requirements
  • New extension with unique copper cladding finish
  • Mechanical and electrical services for optimum environmental conditions
  • Designer inspired finishes to the floors, walls and ceilings providing an inspirational and therapeutic space for children
