Taylor and Fraser undertook the upgrading of five operating theatres, whilst simultaneously replacing ventilation and chiller plant at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The project was phased, refurbishing a single theatre at a time, to ensure minimum disruption to the client and patients.

Scope of Work

An external pre-fabricated plant room was also installed local to the theatres, again to minimise disruption and thus ensuring continuity of service throughout the duration of the project. Given the significant services element, high specification medical equipment and infection control requirements, benefit was had through use of Taylor and Fraser’s in-house mechanical expertise. Project completion was successfully achieved in March 2008.
