The Galloway Community Hospital provides integrated healthcare in Stranraer, to include day surgery, assessment, acute medicine, maternity, renal, palliative care, accident and emergency, Investigation and diagnostic services. The hospital, at a construction cost of £8,000,000* houses allied health professionals such as physiotherapy, occupational, speech and language and podiatry services. Taylor and Fraser took on the role of lead co-ordinator, managing the co-ordination on a shared basis with the main and electrical contractors. The hospital has been particularly well received and Taylor and Fraser is delighted to have been involved in contributing to its success, which has led to further repeat business with client, contractor and consultant alike.

Scope of Work

The Mechanical Services installation comprised:

  • Natural Gas fired LTHW boiler plant, with LPG tank farm and supply for stand-by, serving radiators and coils within air handling units and domestic water calorifiers
  • Air handling units providing supply and extract ventilation for the ward areas and separate plant for the operating theatre suite
  • Kitchen ventilation
  • Medical gases installation
  • Full BMS to provide integrated control of the mechanical services
